Gene Nocon is recognized as one of the finest master printers in the photo industry. His use of Photoshop is based on his experience of nearly 40 years as a photographic printer working with some of the worlds greatest photographers. His best selling book Photographic Printing established his name in the photographic community. His invention of the NOCONTM Photographic Printer revolutionalized the darkroom industry. Gene’s reputation as photographer, printer, inventor, mentor, writer, advisor, speaker, television presenter (Nocon on Photography) is widely known in Europe where he lived for 15 years. In England, he was made a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society and held the Chairmanship of the Royal Photographic Society Distinction Panel for Photographic Printers. Gene was also the recipient of the ILFORDTM Printer of Year Award. Photographic advisor to HRH Prince Andrew, he was responsible for the Royal Wedding photographs, notably for his picture of Prince Andrew and Sarah used for the postage stamp commemorating the event. Mr. Nocon currently resides in San Diego, California where he continues his activities in black and white, but has added an interest in digital photography and web design. |
