MISSION STATEMENT

FRAMED WITH HOPE
Connecting Lives Through the Art of Digital Photography

Framed with Hope seeks to bring the message of hope and unity by delivering donated digital cameras to impoverished and orphaned children in a foreign country so that they can share their life’s story through images they capture on these cameras. The children write a short story to accompany their photos. The volunteers shadow the orphans with their cameras while creating beautiful friendships and life-changing experiences. We also deliver donated computer laptops to offer further support towards the orphans' education. The photos and stories are brought to the United States and turned into a photo exhibit that travels to various public venues such as cafes, libraries and college campuses. We hope that the Framed with Hope photos promote the work of these orphanages and also help raise awareness of how people can support these orphanages by sponsoring or donating funds to care for and educate these children.

On November 24, 2007 six volunteers from San Diego, San Francisco and Sweden traveled to Jakarta, Indonesia for the first Framed with Hope project. The International Humanity Foundation’s orphanage and school received 14 digital cameras and 12 computer laptops donated by supporters of the Framed with Hope project. The orphans who received the digital cameras took many extraordinary photos and shared beautiful stories about their lives. You can sponsor an IHF orphan by going to www.ihfonline.org.
